Howdy do!
Ok, so yesterday's workout plan was a bust because of busts, lol. I forgot I packed "workout" clothes and not "running" clothes. Yes, there is a difference, big time!
See, for women that are...well endowed...bras are no longer just bras, especially in the running world. Bras need to be binders, too. It just plain hurts when the girls are allowed to just flop around in the wind, lol. Ok, maybe not in the wind; did I take that too far? Seriously, they need to be held firmly in place.
Every woman has her preferred method of doing this. For me, it's a double sports bra method. Sorry, guys...this is probably going to be a woman oriented post today ;-) Although, men have their own "rubbing the nipples raw" issues from their shirts rubbing them on the run. All I can say when a man's nipples are raw and bloody from his shirt is, welcome to the first two-three weeks of breast feeding, lol! TMI, I know.
Anyway, Since I had originally planned to do weight training in the gym I packed a regular, single sports bra and workout shorts. I already explained the bra issue. But, since I am "fluffy" my thighs rub together when I run and get rubbed raw! This is why I have to wear capris or long compression shorts to run. So, this was a losing issue on two fronts. On top of that, I have to wear compression on my stupid feet because I kept popping veins in them a couple years ago. I found the "compression socks" are nowhere near enough compression as my feet are, oddly, the only skinny part of me. So I found that those "plantar fasciitis" sleeves are perfect for this problem.
So, instead of running 2 miles to the gym, a half hour on weights then a run back I worked for an hour on the weights. I did tip to toes. I can't believe I'm not sore today. I feel worked but not sore. I will have to push a little harder next time till I start feeling that lactic acid burn-a little. Then I will know I am challenging my muscles.
I did about 5 minutes of the treadmill under my own power. That is an amazing workout! If you leave the treadmill off and just push the tread it is so hard but in a good way! I run on the treadmill for 30 seconds at a time then walk till my heart comes back down a bit then I run another 30 seconds and so on. I can only do this for about 5 minutes as it is super hard! This is the only way I like treadmills. They irritate the you know what out of me otherwise because they feel so unnatural. When you go out running the ground does not move for you. It just doesn't. The treadmill does half the work for you. Yuck!
So, today I will run. I sit here ready to hit the road when I get a break. Not sure how far, yet. I'll let you know tomorrow. It's warm out there today. It's supposed to get up to 80. I get so mad that we never seem to have consistent cool days in the winter. If you haven't guessed, I'm in Florida. I know it's snowy and miserable everywhere else in the country but all those other states do not have 95 degree but feels like 105 with 98% humidity for 8 months out of the year days! I absolutely hate having to wake up at 3am to get in a long run so I can beat the sun/heat/Hell! In the mornings in the summer it feels like you walk out your door and into someone's mouth when you step outside. ...and the treadmill sucks.
Oh yeah, today's weight: 178.2. Not much change. But I see change tomorrow!!!!
Ok, enough whining. I will chat at you tomorrow.
