Well, I ran the Shark Bite Half marathon this past Sunday. This officially qualifies me for Marathon Maniac Double Agent status. I'm pretty proud of that. Three full marathons and 3 half marathons in 90 days. I did it all in 83 days! Everyone asks me what do I get for it. I tell them the glory of knowing you did it. I also get the right to buy the fairly expensive shirt, lol. But you can't get it till you earn it! DONE!
Shark Bite was pretty cute...super humid but cool. My friends and I dusted off our running mermaid costumes we used in the Oceans 50 mile relay last year and ran in those again. They are pretty funny. The shirts are actually anatomically correct. It's so funny how people think we are actually topless, lol! We get dirty looks till we get closer then they laugh.

My friends & me at Shark Bite. I'm the one in the slimming black tail-skirt. Had to throw in the hilarious pic of me crossing the finish line. |
The last 5k was a bit more of a struggle for me than I'm comfortable with. I woke super sleepy that morning and I'm hoping I was just fighting off the bug that my daughter had last week. BUT, I know that it was probably, in the largest part, the holiday weight I gained. Wow, what a difference it makes.
So I weighed in this morning weighing exactly the same as I did at the end of last week. At least it's not up! I ate so well yesterday. I feel good about it so I will do well again today and look forward to tomorrow's weigh in.
So, 3 weeks and counting till the New Orleans Rock & Roll Marathon. MUST...LOSE...WEIGHT!
This is probably my last chance to meet or break a 5 hour marathon for quite some time. I am hitting burnout right now. Don't see another full marathon in my near future. I would really like to be significantly lighter before running another one. I need to, at least, lose the weight I put on over the last 3 months for this one to be at ground zero.
Today's workout will be to run ~2.2 miles from work to the gym, do weights for about a half hour, then run back to my car. That sounds like a great workout.
That's all I have for today. Short and sweet.
TTFN!
