Second Monday of the week...again,
It would appear I'm in a holding pattern with regard to my weight. Ugh...
I did hurt my hip a couple weeks ago and haven't been able to run till about a half week ago. That hasn't helped matters. But this is my big fear rearing its ugly head that I mentioned previously...I simply can't get below the weight I'm currently at. I just don't know why. I have been feeling a stronger urge to eat lately, almost like it's that joyous, special, feminine time...but, it's not. Hopefully it will taper down.
But, I will stick it out and stay with the plan. Maybe my body just needs time to reset, metabolically speaking. Plateaus happen. It's just so frustrating.
While it seems that my speed might be improving a wee bit I am only running 3-4 miles at a time. It's time to crank it up to higher mileage. 17 weeks and counting till Hood to Coast! That should be a perfect time frame to get in gear. Time to do hill work. That's so hard...but it's so good. Strength training in the gym is definitely working, no doubt. It will be interesting to see how I do getting back into the stadium for my hill work. Running up the ramps is tough...and the stairs and bleachers!
Ok, I'm outa here, now.

13 DOWN
Second Monday of the week.
Well, as of my last weigh in at WW I am down 13.4lbs! I'm still in the biting my nails stage because I am afraid this was not a real weight. I still have great doubt that WW will work to get me past this point. I am impressed so far but when I get to 160 I will believe it works.
While my shirts and pants fit better I'm not yet seeing a change in my running pace BUT, having said that, it is easier to move my body. I think the strength training and weight loss are working toward that now. I think I'm still short on calories or the right amount of pre run food. I gotta figure this out. I think eating potatoes and protein shortly before I run will be good. The only time I ate like that before a run I actually felt good through the run. I think my lower intake of starches is still making it hard for me to have the energy I need to run the longer and faster distances.
I'm afraid to eat potatoes and pasta because I'm deathly afraid it will ruin m y weight loss streak but I really think I gotta give these things a try as my pre run meals only. I can still keep it within acceptable limits it just scares me to eat those foods...
So, this incredible opportunity landed in the laps of my friends and me. We were handed over an entry into the Hood to Coast relay in Oregon. A 199 mile relay from the top of Mt Hood to the coast of Oregon. This is a bucket list thing for sure!
So I need to step up my training and try out this eating thing I laid out. I really hope to have most, if not all, the weight I want to lose gone by the race date which is Aug 25-26. Ok, just did the math...not gonna happen as I have 41ish lbs to go and 18 weeks to race day. I would have to lose 2.3lbs/week. I cannot lose weight that fast. It seems my body is settling in at 1.5 to 1.8lbs per week and I think that's really good. So, if this trend keeps steady I can lose about 27lbs more by then for a total of 40lbs lost. Wow! That just seems so fantasy... That would put me within 15lbs of goal!
I sure hope I can do that!
