It is actually Friday!
Ok, well, tomorrow is the day. I officially joined Weight Watchers. Tomorrow I will go to my first meeting. I will be weighed officially...joy. I will feel the pressure to conform to the program and lose the weight. I know I will. I was on Weight watchers for a month or two before, years ago, and it did work. Can't remember why I left but while I was on it and for some time after I lost and kept off 13 lbs. So, let accountability reign! I'm actually kind of excited.
Ran the 5 Points of Life half marathon last weekend. It was a beautiful day to run. Forgot to officially weigh before the race but I weighed the next day and was 179. I came in at 2:23. I will add this to my graph. Now I officially have a 2017 marathon and half marathon to add to it. Hmm, gotta figure out how to add it to a permanent spot on this blog. I'm such a computer know nothing :-(. But I'll figure it out.
I want to really focus on getting my half marathon times down over the summer. Provided I lose weight along the way it will be fun to see if I can get down to a 2 hour half. I also am working on getting into a really incredible relay. If things work out I will write about it later. But it takes place in September and there is a 10 minute per mile minimum pace and there are at least 10 miles/runner over three days so I really would need to work hard over the summer. Right now I can do about a 10:40/mile at that distance. But if I can get to a 2 hour half that would definitely take care of that issue as I need to keep up a 9:06/mile pace to do that.
Well, I gotta get my lazy butt ready for a run. I have been so lethargic this week for some reason and haven't exercised at all. I'm gonna force a run today and see if that kicks me out of this funk.

SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE...
Fourth Monday of the week.
Well, I was definitely sick, indeed. I figure I'm about 80% better today and will be well enough to run this weekend. This weekend is a local race, The Five Points of Life Half and Full Marathon.
I wasn't going to run it this year. But then I changed my mind thus cementing the feeling that I'm hexed! Why? Well, every time I have run a local race I get sick, or to a lesser extent, injured. The years I decided not to run a local race I was just fine. So, I was fine till I decided to run this half! Well, this time, at least, the cold came a week early. I think I'll be good to run by Sunday. This run is a great cause so I'm glad I can have fun while supporting it.
Not sure how I'll do as I have run only once since the New Orleans Rock & Roll Marathon 3 weeks ago...yikes! That's a recipe for lead balloon legs even if you're not sick! I am hoping to do a mile or so today and maybe an easy 2 or 3 tomorrow just to loosen myself up. But I don't want to push it and maybe cause a relapse.
This is a little bit of a challenging course as part of it runs along a street we locals call "The Bacon Strip". It is up and down hilly. But the second half is fairly flat, thankfully. I really wanted to try and do well with this one but as a recovering, hexed person I will just go with the flow and have a good time.
Ok...sigh...I am going to break down and join Weight Watchers next week. It's not that I don't know what I need to do to lose weight it's that I need accountability. I am still 179.2! I can't believe it's the end of February and I have gotten nowhere with the weight loss. Just, damn!
